Stephen Davison, the awarding winning motorcycle photographer, will be in Ballymoney Town Hall on Thursday, 3 February to present a slide show of pictures from the last 40 years of road racing.
Stephen is well known as the most successful road racing photographer in the business and this will be a rare opportunity to hear the background stories to many of his most famous pictures.
The evening will have an added interest to local bike fans as Stephen will be joined by Ballymoney photographer Clifford McLean. By drawing on their combined archive, Stephen and Clifford will talk the audience through some of the best pictures ever taken of motorcycling legends such as Giacomo Agostini, Phil Read, Tommy Robb, the Armoy Armada, John McGuinness, Ian Hutchinson, Ryan Farquhar, Guy Martin and the Dunlop family.
Both photographers recently collaborated for Stephen’s latest book “Between the Hedges – a celebration of 40 years of road racing” in which Stephen used a selection of Clifford’s best pictures from the 1960s and 1970s. “Between the hedges…” is already a bestseller and regarded as ‘an instant classic that will appeal to everyone who loves this hugely popular and exciting sport’.
Signed copies of “Between the Hedges…” will be available at a discount price of £15 on the night. The slide show begins at 8pm on Thursday 3 February in Ballymoney Town Hall, Townhead Street, Tel: (028) 2766 0230. Admission is free and there will be light refreshments available.
